Artist: Roy Wood
Genre: Rock/Pop
Roy Wood is a British musician, singer, songwriter, and multi-instrumentalist who co-founded The Move and Electric Light Orchestra before leading Wizzard. His eccentric genius produced hits including 'Blackberry Way' (The Move), 'See My Baby Jive' and 'Angel Fingers' (Wizzard), and the perennial Christmas favorite 'I Wish It Could Be Christmas Everyday.' Wood's ability to combine rock and roll energy with Phil Spector-influenced production created a distinctive sound. His influence on British glam rock and his demonstration that pop could be simultaneously fun and musically sophisticated was notable.
