Artist: Rich Kids
Genre: Punk/New Wave
Rich Kids were a British new wave band formed in 1977 by Glen Matlock following his departure from the Sex Pistols. The band also featured Midge Ure before his work with Ultravox and Visage. Their music combined punk energy with pop melodicism, pointing toward the new wave developments that would follow. Though short-lived, Rich Kids represented the bridge between punk's initial explosion and the more sophisticated new wave that emerged. Their influence extended through members' subsequent successful careers.
