Artist: Residents
Genre: Experimental/Avant-Garde
The Residents are an American art collective and experimental music group who have maintained complete anonymity since forming in 1969. Performing in eyeball masks and tuxedos, they have created a vast catalog of challenging, often disturbing music that defies categorization. Albums including 'Meet the Residents,' 'The Third Reich 'n Roll,' and 'Eskimo' showcase their unique approach combining avant-garde composition with dark humor. The Residents' influence on experimental music, multimedia art, and alternative culture was substantial. They represented musical experimentation at its most uncompromising and mysterious.
