Artist: Renaissance
Genre: Progressive Rock
Renaissance were a British progressive rock band who evolved from their late 1960s origins into one of the genre's most distinctive acts. Featuring Annie Haslam's remarkable five-octave soprano voice and classically-influenced arrangements, they created a unique sound combining rock with orchestral and folk elements. Albums including 'Ashes Are Burning,' 'Scheherazade and Other Stories,' and 'A Song for All Seasons' showcased their ambitious approach. Renaissance's influence on symphonic progressive rock was substantial. They represented the genre's most beautiful and accessible possibilities.
