Brothers John and Mark Gallagher's energetic performances and powerful sound earned them the nickname 'athletic rock.' Albums like 'Wiped Out' and 'All for One' influenced the development of thrash metal. Their move to America in the mid-1980s anticipated the British metal invasion. Raven's influence on speed and thrash metal was acknowledged by bands including Metallica and Anthrax. They represented NWOBHM at its most energetic.
