Queen + Paul Rodgers was a collaborative project between the surviving members of Queen and Free/Bad Company vocalist Paul Rodgers, active from 2004 to 2009. The collaboration produced an album and extensive touring, performing Queen classics with Rodgers' powerful blues-rock vocals. While acknowledging that Rodgers' style differed from Mercury's, the partnership allowed Queen's music to be performed live with integrity. The project preceded Queen's later collaboration with Adam Lambert. Queen + Paul Rodgers represented a respectful approach to continuing Queen's legacy while honoring Freddie Mercury's irreplaceable contribution.
