Queen are a British rock band formed in London in 1970, consisting of Freddie Mercury (vocals, piano), Brian May (guitar), Roger Taylor (drums), and John Deacon (bass). Their genre-defying music produced some of rock's most beloved songs, including 'Bohemian Rhapsody,' 'We Will Rock You,' 'We Are the Champions,' 'Somebody to Love,' and 'Don't Stop Me Now.' Queen's theatrical performances and Mercury's charismatic stage presence made them legendary live performers. Their 1985 Live Aid performance is considered the greatest rock performance ever. Queen's influence on rock, pop, and musical theatre was immense. Mercury's 1991 death from AIDS-related illness was mourned worldwide.
