Quakers are an international hip-hop production collective formed by Portishead's Geoff Barrow, 7 Inch Dip Records' Katalyst, and DJ/producer Stones Throw's DJ Shadow. Their album featured numerous guest MCs performing over their eclectic, sample-heavy production. Quakers represented the experimental end of hip-hop production, combining underground aesthetics with surprising musical choices. The project demonstrated hip-hop's continued potential for creative collaboration across geographic boundaries.
