The Police were a British-American rock band formed in London in 1977, consisting of Sting (bass, vocals), Andy Summers (guitar), and Stewart Copeland (drums). Their unique blend of new wave, reggae, and rock produced some of the era's most distinctive music. Hits including 'Roxanne,' 'Message in a Bottle,' 'Every Breath You Take,' 'Every Little Thing She Does Is Magic,' and 'Walking on the Moon' achieved worldwide success. Their album 'Synchronicity' topped charts globally. The band's musical sophistication, combining Copeland's polyrhythmic drumming with Summers' textured guitar and Sting's melodic bass and voice, set them apart from contemporaries. After disbanding in 1986, they reunited for a successful 2007-2008 tour.
