Poison are an American glam metal band from Harrisburg, Pennsylvania, formed in 1983 who became one of the most commercially successful acts of the 1980s hair metal era. Their combination of catchy hooks, party anthems, and glamorous image produced hits including 'Every Rose Has Its Thorn,' 'Nothin' But a Good Time,' 'Talk Dirty to Me,' and 'Unskinny Bop.' Lead singer Bret Michaels' subsequent solo and reality TV career extended the band's visibility. Poison sold over 50 million records worldwide, representing glam metal at its most commercially successful. Their music defined the Sunset Strip sound and continues to draw nostalgic audiences to their reunion tours.
