Paul McCartney and Wings were a rock band formed in 1971 by the former Beatle with his wife Linda and guitarist Denny Laine. The band achieved massive commercial success, providing McCartney with a post-Beatles identity beyond his legendary former group. Hits including 'Band on the Run,' 'Live and Let Die,' 'Silly Love Songs,' 'Jet,' and 'Maybe I'm Amazed' demonstrated his continued melodic genius. Wings' albums topped charts worldwide, proving McCartney could thrive beyond The Beatles. The band's 1976 'Wings Over America' tour was the most successful of its era. Wings disbanded in 1981, but their music remains integral to McCartney's celebrated catalog.
