Otis Rush was an American blues guitarist and singer whose innovative left-handed, upside-down guitar technique and emotionally intense vocals made him one of the most influential West Side Chicago blues artists. His 1956 Cobra Records recordings, including 'I Can't Quit You Baby' (later covered by Led Zeppelin) and 'All Your Love,' established templates that influenced British blues and rock. Rush's sophisticated guitar style combined stinging single notes with complex chords. Despite struggles with record labels and personal difficulties, Rush remained revered among blues purists and rock guitarists alike. His influence on blues and rock guitar was acknowledged by Eric Clapton, Stevie Ray Vaughan, and many others.
