Orleans are an American rock band formed in Woodstock, New York, in 1972 who achieved significant success in the mid-1970s with their melodic, harmony-rich sound. Hits including 'Dance with Me,' 'Still the One,' and 'Love Takes Time' showcased their ability to craft radio-friendly pop-rock. 'Still the One' achieved enduring popularity through use in television and advertising. The band featured brothers Larry and Lance Hoppen alongside John Hall, who later served in Congress. Orleans represented the sophisticated, radio-friendly rock that dominated mid-1970s American pop. Their songs have proven remarkably durable across decades.
