Onslaught are a British thrash metal band from Bristol formed in 1983 who became significant figures in the UK thrash scene. Their album 'The Force' (1986) is considered a classic of British thrash metal. The band's aggressive sound and political lyrics earned them a devoted following among metal fans. After disbanding in the early 1990s, Onslaught reformed in 2005 and continued releasing albums that maintained their thrash metal credentials. Their influence on British extreme metal and their role in establishing thrash metal in the UK was notable. Onslaught represented British metal's ability to compete with American and German thrash scenes.
