Artist: Oliver Nelson
Genre: Jazz
Oliver Nelson was an American jazz saxophonist, clarinetist, composer, and arranger whose work influenced both jazz and film music. His 1961 album 'The Blues and the Abstract Truth,' featuring the classic 'Stolen Moments,' is considered one of jazz's finest recordings. Nelson's sophisticated arranging skills led to extensive work in television and film scoring, particularly for 'Six Million Dollar Man' and 'Ironside.' His ability to bridge jazz composition with commercial media demonstrated versatility rare among jazz artists. Nelson's early death in 1975 cut short a career that had contributed significantly to both jazz and American entertainment music.
