Artist: Odyssey
Genre: Disco/R&B
Odyssey were an American vocal group who achieved significant success in the late 1970s and early 1980s with their sophisticated disco and R&B sound. Their biggest hits included 'Native New Yorker,' 'Use It Up and Wear It Out,' and 'Going Back to My Roots.' The group's polished productions and strong vocal performances earned them crossover success on both pop and R&B charts. 'Native New Yorker' became an anthem for New York City pride. Odyssey represented the quality end of disco, combining dance floor appeal with genuine musical sophistication. Their music demonstrated that disco could be both commercially successful and artistically credible.
