Nicole (Nicole Hohloch) is a German singer who won the Eurovision Song Contest in 1982 with 'Ein bißchen Frieden' ('A Little Peace'). The song, promoting peace during Cold War tensions, became an international hit and topped the UK charts. Nicole became the first German solo artist to achieve a UK number one. Her victory and the song's message resonated with audiences concerned about nuclear tensions. Though subsequent international success proved elusive, Nicole remained popular in Germany. She represented Eurovision's potential to create international hits addressing universal themes of peace and hope.
