Nick Kamen was a British model, singer, and songwriter who achieved fame first through his appearance in a Levi's commercial before launching a successful music career. His biggest hit, 'Each Time You Break My Heart,' co-written and produced by Madonna, reached the UK Top 5 in 1986. Kamen's handsome appearance and smooth pop sound made him a teen idol of the era. Though his commercial success was concentrated in the late 1980s, he continued recording and maintained a European following. Kamen's death in 2021 prompted tributes acknowledging his contribution to 1980s pop culture. He represented the model-to-pop-star phenomenon of the era.
