Artist: New Seekers
Genre: Pop
The New Seekers were a British pop group formed in 1969 by Keith Potger of the original Seekers. They achieved international success with their polished vocal harmonies and accessible pop sound. Their biggest hit, 'I'd Like to Teach the World to Sing,' adapted from a Coca-Cola commercial, became a worldwide phenomenon in 1971. Other hits included 'Never Ending Song of Love,' 'Beg, Steal or Borrow,' and 'You Won't Find Another Fool Like Me.' The group represented the UK at the Eurovision Song Contest in 1972. The New Seekers' wholesome image and tight harmonies appealed to family audiences during an era of more challenging rock music. Their music remains synonymous with early 1970s pop optimism.
