Narada Michael Walden is an American singer, songwriter, drummer, and producer who achieved success both as a performer and behind the scenes. As a drummer, he played with John McLaughlin's Mahavishnu Orchestra and Jeff Beck. His production work shaped countless hits for artists including Whitney Houston ('I Wanna Dance with Somebody,' 'How Will I Know'), Aretha Franklin ('Freeway of Love'), and Mariah Carey. His own recording career produced R&B hits including 'Divine Emotions.'
