Artist: Moody Blues
Genre: Progressive Rock
The Moody Blues are a British rock band formed in Birmingham in 1964 who pioneered the fusion of rock with orchestral music. Their 1967 album 'Days of Future Passed,' featuring 'Nights in White Satin,' established their symphonic rock approach and remained in print for decades. The classic lineup of Justin Hayward, John Lodge, Ray Thomas, Mike Pinder, and Graeme Edge created a distinctive sound featuring the Mellotron keyboard. Subsequent albums including 'In Search of the Lost Chord' and 'On the Threshold of a Dream' continued their conceptual approach. 'Nights in White Satin' became one of rock's most enduring songs. The Moody Blues were inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 2018, recognizing their influence on progressive rock and orchestral pop.
