Artist: Mission
Genre: Gothic Rock
The Mission are a British rock band formed in 1986 by Wayne Hussey and Craig Adams after leaving The Sisters of Mercy. Their gothic rock sound, featuring Hussey's distinctive vocals and the band's atmospheric guitars, achieved significant commercial success. Albums 'God's Own Medicine,' 'Children,' and 'Carved in Sand' produced UK hits including 'Wasteland,' 'Tower of Strength,' and 'Deliverance.' The Mission combined gothic atmospherics with more accessible rock structures than some genre contemporaries. Their influence on gothic rock and alternative rock extended through the late 1980s and 1990s. Despite lineup changes and hiatuses, The Mission continued performing, maintaining their status as one of gothic rock's most successful acts.
