With Ultravox, he co-wrote and performed hits including 'Vienna,' 'Dancing with Tears in My Eyes,' and 'Hymn.' He co-wrote 'Do They Know It's Christmas?' with Bob Geldof and helped organize Live Aid. His solo career produced hits like 'If I Was.' Ure's production and songwriting skills extended beyond his performing career to work with other artists. His contribution to 1980s synth-pop and his humanitarian work with Band Aid and Live Aid established him as one of the decade's most significant British musicians. Ure continues performing and recording.
