Artist: Medicine Head
Genre: Rock/Blues
Medicine Head were a British rock duo consisting of John Fiddler and Peter Hope-Evans who achieved success in the early 1970s with their blues-influenced rock. Their biggest hit, '(And the) Pictures in the Sky,' reached the UK Top 30. The duo's stripped-down approach, featuring guitar, harmonica, and drums played simultaneously, created a distinctive sound. Later incarnations expanded to a fuller band format. Medicine Head represented the British blues-rock tradition while maintaining their own distinctive identity. Though their commercial success was relatively brief, they earned respect among fans of authentic, blues-based British rock. Their approach influenced subsequent artists who valued simplicity and authenticity.
