Genre: Rock and Roll
Marty Wilde is a British rock and roll singer who was one of the first British rock and roll stars in the late 1950s. His hits included 'Endless Sleep,' 'A Teenager in Love,' and 'Bad Boy.' Wilde's success preceded and helped pave the way for the British Invasion. His daughter Kim Wilde achieved her own pop stardom in the 1980s, and he co-wrote many of her hits with son Ricky. Wilde's continued performing demonstrated the longevity possible in rock and roll. He represented the first generation of British rock and roll artists who brought American music styles to UK audiences while developing their own identity.
