Lita Ford is a British-American rock guitarist and singer who achieved fame first with the pioneering all-female band The Runaways and subsequently as a solo artist. Her solo career peaked in the late 1980s with hits including 'Kiss Me Deadly' and 'Close My Eyes Forever,' a duet with Ozzy Osbourne. Ford's guitar skills and powerful image made her one of the few successful female hard rock artists during the male-dominated 1980s metal era. Her persistence in a challenging environment influenced subsequent female rock musicians. Ford continued performing, representing the era when women could achieve success in hard rock while maintaining their identity as serious musicians.
