Lindisfarne were a British folk rock band from Newcastle upon Tyne who became one of the most beloved bands in Northeast England and achieved national success in the early 1970s. Their album 'Fog on the Tyne' topped the UK charts in 1971, and its title track along with 'Lady Eleanor' and 'Meet Me on the Corner' became their signature songs. The band's warm, acoustic-based sound and distinctive Geordie identity earned them a devoted following. Despite lineup changes and periods of separation, Lindisfarne continued performing for decades, becoming synonymous with Newcastle's cultural identity.
