Lightning Seeds are a British band formed in Liverpool by Ian Broudie, who remains the sole constant member. Their hits, including 'Pure,' 'The Life of Riley,' 'Lucky You,' and the football anthem 'Three Lions' (with David Baddiel and Frank Skinner), showcased Broudie's gift for melodic, jangly pop. 'Three Lions' became one of the UK's best-loved songs, performed at every subsequent England football tournament. Broudie's production work for other artists, including The Coral and Echo & the Bunnymen, demonstrated his broader influence on British indie rock. Lightning Seeds represented accessible, quality British pop that achieved both critical respect and commercial success. Their music has proven remarkably enduring.
