Kiki Dee is a British singer who became the first British female artist to sign with Motown's Tamla Records. Her biggest success came with 'Don't Go Breaking My Heart,' a duet with Elton John that topped charts worldwide in 1976. The song's joyful energy and the chemistry between Dee and John made it an enduring classic. Her solo hits included 'I've Got the Music in Me' and 'Star.' Dee's powerful voice and soulful delivery distinguished her from many British pop contemporaries. Her long association with Elton John extended beyond their famous duet to numerous collaborations and performances. Dee continued performing, her voice remaining strong decades after her commercial peak. She represents the soulful side of 1970s British pop.
