His 1975 'Köln Concert' became the best-selling solo jazz album and the best-selling piano album in history. Jarrett's solo concerts, featuring completely improvised performances, demonstrated unprecedented creative spontaneity. His Standards Trio with Gary Peacock and Jack DeJohnette explored the jazz repertoire with exceptional sensitivity. Jarrett's classical recordings, particularly of Bach and Mozart, earned equal acclaim.
