Artist: Jonathan King
Genre: Pop
Jonathan King is a British singer, songwriter, record producer, and media personality who was influential in 1960s and 1970s British pop. He discovered and named Genesis, produced Bay City Rollers' early recordings, and had hits under his own name including 'Everyone's Gone to the Moon.' King's approach embraced novelty and commerciality, often creating deliberately catchy, lightweight pop. He was known for recording under numerous pseudonyms, creating hits under different names. His production and A&R work brought many successful artists to public attention. King's later criminal conviction for sexual offenses against minors fundamentally altered his legacy, overshadowing his musical contributions with justified condemnation.
