Artist: Johannes Brahms
Genre: Classical
Johannes Brahms was a German composer and pianist who became one of the leading figures of the Romantic era. His four symphonies, German Requiem, violin concerto, and piano works represent the culmination of Classical tradition combined with Romantic expression. Brahms was seen as the conservative champion of absolute music against the 'New German School' of Liszt and Wagner. His meticulous craftsmanship and structural sophistication earned him comparison to Beethoven, whose legacy he consciously upheld. Chamber works like his piano quintet and clarinet quintet remain beloved cornerstones of the repertoire. Brahms' influence on subsequent classical composers was substantial, and his music continues to be performed worldwide by orchestras, chamber groups, and soloists.
