Jellybean Benitez is an American DJ, remixer, and producer who became one of the most influential figures in 1980s dance music. His production and remix work for Madonna, including 'Holiday,' helped establish her as a pop star. Jellybean's own recordings, including 'Sidewalk Talk' (featuring Madonna), achieved chart success. His remixes for countless artists helped define the sound of 1980s dance pop. Jellybean's club DJ work at New York's Funhouse made him one of the era's most important DJs. His influence on dance music production and the art of remixing was substantial. Jellybean represented the emergence of the DJ/producer as a creative force in popular music.
