Artist: It Bites
Genre: Progressive Rock
It Bites were a British progressive rock band from Cumbria who achieved success in the late 1980s with their technically accomplished yet accessible approach. Their biggest hit, 'Calling All the Heroes,' reached the UK Top 10 in 1986, demonstrating that progressive rock could achieve chart success in the synth-pop era. Vocalist and guitarist Francis Dunnery's exceptional musicianship drove albums like 'The Big Lad in the Windmill' and 'Once Around the World.' The band combined Yes-influenced progressive complexity with pop hooks and contemporary production. After disbanding in 1990, they reformed in 2006 with John Mitchell replacing Dunnery. It Bites represented the sophisticated end of 1980s British rock and helped keep progressive rock alive during a commercially challenging period for the genre.
