Interview were a British new wave band who emerged during the late 1970s/early 1980s new wave explosion. Their sound incorporated the synthesizers and angular guitars characteristic of the era's alternative rock. Like many new wave acts, Interview combined art school sensibilities with pop ambitions, creating music that reflected the post-punk era's experimental spirit. The band contributed to the rich tapestry of British new wave, a movement that produced numerous influential and commercially successful acts. Their work represented the diversity of sounds encompassed within the new wave umbrella, from synth-pop to guitar-driven post-punk.
