Immediate Records was a British record label founded in 1965 by Rolling Stones manager Andrew Loog Oldham and Tony Calder. The label became one of the most important independent labels of the 1960s, releasing records by the Small Faces, Nico, Humble Pie, and Fleetwood Mac among others. Immediate's roster read like a who's who of late 1960s British rock, and its independent spirit influenced subsequent generations of label owners. The label's motto, 'Happy to be part of the industry of human happiness,' reflected Oldham's showman sensibilities. Though Immediate went bankrupt in 1970, its legacy as a pioneering independent label remained influential on the British music industry.
