Illusion was the name used by various rock bands across different eras and regions. The name's suggestion of magic and altered perception appealed to rock musicians exploring psychedelic, progressive, or atmospheric territories. Rock bands named Illusion typically brought these associations to their music, creating sounds designed to transport listeners beyond everyday reality. The name's popularity across rock's history reflects the genre's ongoing interest in expanded consciousness and artistic transcendence. Various Illusions contributed to rock's development while exploring the boundaries between reality and imagination through sound.
