Their albums, including 'If' and 'If 2,' showcased their sophisticated arrangements and instrumental prowess. If were part of the vibrant early 1970s British progressive scene that also produced bands like Colosseum and Nucleus. Vocalist J.W. Hodkinson's soulful delivery added an accessible element to their complex music. Though they disbanded in 1975, If's influence on jazz-rock fusion and progressive rock endured among fans of adventurous music from the era.
