Ice-T is an American rapper, songwriter, and actor who became one of the pioneers of West Coast hip-hop and gangsta rap. His 1986 single '6 in the Mornin'' is considered one of the first gangsta rap songs. Albums like 'Rhyme Pays,' 'Power,' and 'O.G. Original Gangster' established him as a major force in hip-hop, with his detailed street narratives influencing countless subsequent rappers. Ice-T also formed the heavy metal band Body Count, whose song 'Cop Killer' sparked major controversy in 1992. His acting career, particularly his long-running role on 'Law & Order: SVU,' brought him mainstream recognition beyond music. Ice-T's influence on hip-hop's development and his successful transition to acting demonstrate his versatility and cultural impact.
