I-Level were a British synth-funk band who achieved success in the early 1980s with their blend of electronic production and R&B influences. Their biggest hit, 'Minefield,' reached the UK Top 40 in 1983 and showcased their sophisticated approach to electronic soul. The band represented the British synth-funk movement that also included acts like Imagination and Freeez. I-Level's polished production and club-friendly sound earned them airplay and chart success during the period when British electronic soul was particularly vibrant.
