Hurricane was an American hard rock band formed in Los Angeles in 1984, part of the vibrant Sunset Strip metal scene. The band featured notable musicians including guitarist Robert Sarzo and vocalist Kelly Hansen, who later joined Foreigner. Their albums 'Take What You Want' and 'Over the Edge' showcased their melodic hard rock sound, combining heavy guitars with accessible hooks and strong vocals. Singles like 'I'm on to You' received MTV airplay during the late 1980s. Hurricane represented the polished, commercial end of the LA metal scene, emphasizing melody and songcraft alongside hard rock power. Though they never achieved the commercial heights of some contemporaries, the band maintained a dedicated following. Kelly Hansen's subsequent success with Foreigner validated the vocal talents that Hurricane first showcased.
