Hugh Cornwell is a British singer, songwriter, and guitarist best known as the founding member and original lead vocalist of The Stranglers. With The Stranglers, Cornwell helped create some of the most distinctive music of the punk and new wave era, including hits like 'No More Heroes,' 'Golden Brown,' and 'Always the Sun.' His intelligent, often dark songwriting and distinctive vocal style defined the band's sound. After leaving The Stranglers in 1990, Cornwell pursued a solo career that allowed him to explore various musical directions.
