Artist: House Of Love
Genre: Alternative Rock
The House of Love were a British rock band formed in London in 1986, led by guitarist and vocalist Guy Chadwick. They became critical darlings of the late 1980s UK indie scene with their blend of jangly guitars, psychedelic atmospherics, and romantic songwriting. Their Creation Records debut featured the indie classics 'Christine' and 'Destroy the Heart,' establishing them as one of the most promising bands of their era. After signing to a major label, they released their acclaimed self-titled album featuring 'I Don't Know Why I Love You' and 'Shine On.' Though commercial success proved elusive and internal tensions led to their breakup, The House of Love's influence on shoegaze and Britpop was significant. Their sophisticated guitar pop inspired numerous subsequent British bands.
