Heartbeat refers to musical projects and compilations associated with British pop music, including soundtrack albums from the popular British television series 'Heartbeat' set in 1960s Yorkshire. The show, which ran from 1992 to 2010, featured extensive use of 1960s pop and rock music, introducing classic songs to new audiences. Heartbeat soundtrack albums collected these nostalgic recordings, becoming popular with viewers of the show and fans of 1960s music. The Heartbeat brand demonstrated how television could revive interest in classic pop music and introduced British musical heritage to subsequent generations. These compilations served as accessible entry points to 1960s British pop for audiences who might not otherwise have encountered this music.
