Greg Kihn is an American rock musician who achieved commercial success in the early 1980s with his blend of power pop, rock, and new wave influences. Based in the San Francisco Bay Area and signed to Beserkley Records, Kihn built a following through consistent touring and quality albums before breaking through commercially. His biggest hits, 'The Breakup Song (They Don't Write 'Em)' and 'Jeopardy,' showcased his talent for catchy, hook-laden rock songs. The video for 'Jeopardy,' a parody of horror films, became an MTV staple. Kihn was also an early supporter of local bands, helping establish the Bay Area rock scene. After his commercial peak, he became a radio DJ and author while continuing to perform. Kihn's influence on power pop and early 1980s rock remains appreciated by fans of the genre.
