Artist: Graham Parker The
Genre: Pub Rock/New Wave
Graham Parker and the Rumour were a British rock band that emerged from London's pub rock scene in 1975, becoming one of the most critically acclaimed acts of their era. The Rumour featured members from various pub rock bands, including Brinsley Schwarz, creating a tight, versatile backing band for Parker's passionate vocals and sharp songwriting. Together they released seminal albums including 'Howlin' Wind,' 'Heat Treatment,' and the masterful 'Squeezing Out Sparks.' Their sound combined elements of soul, rock and roll, and punk energy, predating and influencing the new wave movement. The band's live performances were legendary for their intensity and musicianship. Though they disbanded in 1980, they reunited for tours and the album 'Three Chords Good' in 2012, proving their chemistry remained intact decades later.
