Godley & Creme were a British duo consisting of Kevin Godley and Lol Creme, former members of the art-pop band 10cc. After leaving 10cc in 1976, they embarked on an experimental career that produced ambitious albums like 'Consequences,' an elaborate three-album concept work. Their later, more accessible albums yielded the hit 'Cry,' notable for its groundbreaking music video featuring morphing faces that the duo directed. As pioneering music video directors, Godley & Creme created iconic videos for artists including Duran Duran, The Police, and Herbie Hancock, helping define the visual language of MTV. Their innovative approach to both music and video established them as important figures in the development of music video as an art form. The duo also invented the Gizmotron, a guitar attachment for creating sustained string-like sounds.
