Gaye Bykers on Acid were a British alternative rock band formed in Leicester in 1985, part of the 'grebo' scene that also included Pop Will Eat Itself and Crazyhead. Their irreverent, psychedelic approach combined elements of punk, metal, and garage rock with a deliberately provocative image and sense of humor. Albums like 'Drill Your Own Hole' and 'Stewed to the Gills' showcased their chaotic, energetic sound. The band was known for their outrageous live shows and anti-establishment attitude that aligned them with the underground music scene of the late 1980s. Though they never achieved mainstream success, they developed a cult following and influenced the development of alternative rock in Britain. The grebo movement they helped pioneer was an important bridge between punk and the emerging alternative rock scene of the early 1990s.
