Gallagher and Lyle were a Scottish songwriting and performing duo consisting of Benny Gallagher and Graham Lyle. Before their success as a duo, both had been members of McGuinness Flint and had written songs for other artists. Their smooth, melodic soft rock sound achieved considerable success in the mid-1970s, particularly with their biggest hit 'I Wanna Stay with You' and 'Heart on My Sleeve.' Their albums 'Breakaway' and 'Love on the Airwaves' showcased their exceptional songwriting abilities and vocal harmonies. Graham Lyle would later achieve even greater success as a songwriter, co-writing Tina Turner's massive hit 'What's Love Got to Do with It.' The duo's influence on 1970s soft rock and their contribution to popular songwriting extends beyond their own recordings through the many artists who covered their compositions.
