Floyd Cramer was an American pianist known for his 'slip note' piano style, becoming one of country and pop music's most distinctive sounds during the 1960s. Born in 1933, Cramer became one of Nashville's most in-demand session musicians, playing on countless hits for Elvis, Patsy Cline, and Roy Orbison. His signature technique involved sliding notes creating unique expressive sound. Cramer achieved solo success with instrumental 'Last Date' (1960), followed by other successes. Recording over 50 albums, his influence on country piano remains profound. He was inducted into Country Music Hall of Fame.
